Cherokee Campground is a family-oriented business with a personal touch. Mostly, people stay at Cherokee Campground because they are working in the Birmingham area, relocating to the Birmingham area, or passing through and want to relax a day or two. The campground originated as a "beach" in the mid 1960s called Cherokee Beach. In the mid 1980s, the Littleton family closed the beach, turning the property into a campground. Braxton Enterprises, Inc., a family owned business, leases and operates the Cherokee Campground.
Although Cherokee Campground is not a "modern" campground with all the ammenities of a "resort" area or a chain-owned business, we offer a great atmosphere of family camping with sites for any camping unit from a small travel trailer to "big rig" motorhomes, both 30 and 50 amp service.
There are those who enjoy staying at Cherokee Campground because of the "camping/woodsy" atmosphere, and those who would rather stay in the more "modern" facility with no trees. Either way, our desire is that you have an enjoyable camping experience.
